The two great metropolises of the modern world, London and New York, have a frenetic pace. A lot of people want to go from one place to another... And you have the solution! In Get on board you must create the best bus line in one of these two cities, trying to carry as many passengers as possible, stopping at the most interesting places and avoiding annoying traffic jams. With rules that are easy to learn, you will immediately start the game. The main mechanic of Get on board is flip and write, as throughout the game we will flip over a series of cards (bus tickets, in the game) and write down on our personal sheet the encounters we make. Depending on the number of players, the board is prepared on the London or New York side. Each participant takes the pieces of his or her color... And let the game begin!
The central board shows a map of the streets of London or New York through which we will try to trace a route that will bring us as many points as possible. At intersections we will find passengers and monuments, which will give us points, but also green lights, which will allow us to extend the route. However, traffic jams are not good for business. Whenever a route is shared by several players or passes through a black stretch, we will lose points.
Games are played over 12 rounds or laps and in each round a new ticket card is used. This card will indicate what shape the route should take for each player during that round. In this way, little by little, the board will be filled with route cards and bonuses will be obtained. Depending on the type of passengers boarding the bus, more or less points can be accumulated. In addition, there are also common and personal objectives, which will allow you to earn points as long as certain requirements are met.
Get on board is an urban strategy title that is perfect for playing with family and friends. The games are fast and dynamic, with many different options for players to score points. Will you focus on fulfilling the common objectives quickly to claim a bigger reward, or will you prefer to accumulate passengers that will give you more bonuses? Either way, it's always a good idea to pay attention to your opponents' actions to try to guess their strategies - hop on the best buses in town and enjoy the fast-paced progress!
